Meet Miracle Maddie – a little warrior who’s about to celebrate her first birthday against all the odds. Born to Zoe and Matthew Davies, Madeline seemed healthy at first. But just hours after her birth, their world was turned upside down.

Maddie experienced a sudden and critical collapse. Her oxygen levels plummeted, and she was diagnosed with a severe condition known as persistent pulmonary hypertension of the newborn (PPHN). This life-threatening condition affects the lungs and makes it difficult to breathe.

Despite this terrifying start, Maddie’s spirit never wavered. She had to be airlifted from Swansea to London’s Great Ormond Street Hospital for special treatment, where she spent ten challenging days. Meanwhile, mum Zoe was fighting her own battle with sepsis. 💪

Throughout this ordeal, Maddie’s determination shone through. Even when doctors were unsure of her survival, Maddie’s strength surprised everyone. Returning to Singleton Hospital, she spent weeks in intensive care before finally going home in June.

Now, as she approaches her first birthday, Maddie is not just surviving—she’s thriving! Nicknamed “Miracle Maddie” by her family, she’s hitting her developmental milestones and proving that strength comes in the tiniest of packages. 🎈

To celebrate Maddie’s incredible journey, Zoe is hosting a charity family fun day on April 25 and is set to conquer the Three Peaks Challenge in May. The family is keen to give back to Great Ormond Street and Singleton Hospitals, whose teams worked tirelessly to help Maddie.

Here’s to celebrating courage, resilience, and the miracle of life. Happy early birthday, Miracle Maddie! 🎂💕
