đź“ť Exciting times for Welsh rugby fans! 🔥 Just weeks into his new role, Steve Tandy, the Wales head coach, has already pulled off his first big hire. Danny Wilson will join Tandy’s team after wrapping up his duties with Harlequins. 🏉
But that’s just the beginning! With Wales set to face Argentina soon, the rest of the coaching squad needs to be sorted. Rumour has it, Matt Sherratt, who stepped up during the Six Nations and Japan tour, is in the mix. Whether he stays at Cardiff or joins Tandy, watch this space for updates!
Other names floating around include the likes of Harlequins’ Adam Jones and Gloucester’s T. Rhys Thomas, although both are tied to existing contracts. And let’s not forget Leigh Halfpenny, who dipped his toes into coaching this summer but may still have playing ambitions.
Meanwhile, speculation remains over the defence coach role. Tandy might tap into the talents of someone like Cardiff’s Gethin Jenkins, who handled duties over the summer.
With all these potential moves, the next few weeks will be crucial for shaping Wales’ strategy. One thing’s for sure, it’s all shaping up to be an intriguing season ahead! Keep your eyes peeled for more coaching announcements. 🤞🇽🇺
