Exciting update for those with loved ones in the hospital! Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board is rolling out a brand-new visiting policy across its hospitals, giving families more time with their loved ones. Starting from April 1st, visiting hours will now run from 11am to 8pm every day. This extended timeframe replaces the old two-hour slots, offering more flexibility and freedom for those visiting patients.

This change covers major hospitals like the Royal Glamorgan in Llantrisant, Princess of Wales in Bridgend, and Prince Charles in Merthyr. Patients can now have up to two visitors at a time, with visits lasting up to two hours to ensure a comfortable recovery environment.

However, there are a few exceptions! Special areas such as maternity, neonatal, paediatrics, critical care, and palliative care will maintain their own visiting rules suited to their specific needs. In some cases, visits outside of regular hours can be arranged for special circumstances.

The health board highlights the importance of staying connected with friends and family, promoting recovery and overall well-being. But they’re also asking visitors to play their part: keep up good hand hygiene, respect meal times, and be courteous to staff, patients, and others. Remember, no photos or videos in clinical areas!

This thoughtful approach means more accessible visitation while ensuring patients get the rest and care they need. For more detailed info, head to the health board’s website.
