🦠😷 Face Masks Return to Some UK Hospitals as Flu Cases Surge! 🚨

With flu cases skyrocketing, some UK hospitals are reintroducing mandatory face mask rules. Hospitals including Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and others in South Wales have already taken action. Staff, patients, and visitors are required to wear masks to keep everyone safe during this flu wave.

Kate Garraway on Good Morning Britain highlighted that several hospitals in England have declared critical incidents due to record-breaking flu admissions. Daniel Elkeles from NHS Providers described the current flu strain as “very nasty” and urged everyone with symptoms to mask up, especially in public areas like transport, to help curb the spread.

In Bristol, at Southmead Hospital, patients and A&E staff are being encouraged to mask up as well. It’s reminiscent of the COVID-19 days, with enhanced infection controls and even a dedicated flu ward.
The Government and health experts are emphasising the importance of masks as a tool to limit the spread of winter illnesses. No 10 suggests considering mask-wearing when feeling unwell to stop the virus from spreading. The flu vaccine remains the best defence, with an impressive 17 million jabs given so far this season.
Stay informed and stay safe by considering wearing a mask and getting vaccinated. Let’s all do our part to keep each other healthy this winter! 🌨️💉
