Exciting news for Porthcawl! 🌊 Plans are in the works for a new sauna and wellness centre right by the seaside, close to Sandy Bay Beach. If approved, this rejuvenating haven will be nestled near The Portway, promising a slice of relaxation in our bustling beach town.
The proposed centre will transform part of an existing building that already houses a Domino’s Pizza, a tanning salon, and some office spaces. Developers are looking at adding a sauna, ice baths, and shower facilities, all while keeping the exterior unchanged.
Though the first floor’s conversion into residential apartments has got the green light, it seems those plans are on the back burner for now. As these wellness centre plans head to Bridgend County Borough Council for approval, locals are keenly watching for what could be a fresh new spot to unwind.
This proposal lands shortly after a popular mobile sauna at Rest Bay had to hit the pause button, facing planning setbacks. The owners are currently appealing to revive that beloved seaside escape.
