🐾 Heartbreaking news from the Welsh Mountain Zoo as they announce the untimely passing of Mango, their beloved capybara. Mango, who had only recently joined the zoo family near Colwyn Bay, won hearts with his adorable charm and unique story.

Sadly, Mango passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 5. The zoo had introduced Mango to the world on May 1, even running a campaign allowing fans to choose his name. He quickly became a favourite among visitors and staff.
Capybaras are known for their sociable nature, usually living in groups of up to 20. The zoo had exciting plans to introduce a companion for Mango, making this loss even more tragic.

The team is now working diligently to understand the cause of Mango’s sudden departure. For the time being, his habitat will remain closed as they seek answers and grieve their cherished friend.
“Our dedicated keepers are heartbroken by this loss,” the zoo shared. “We know many of you followed Mango’s journey, and your support meant the world to us. We deeply regret sharing this sad news with you.”
Let’s send some love and support to the team at the zoo during this difficult time. Rest in peace, Mango. 💔
