With schools out for the summer, it’s easy to feel the pressure to splash out on pricey trips to keep the kids entertained. But hold on a sec – new research suggests parents in the UK are spending an average of £400 per child on sightseeing! Could there be a different approach to summer fun?

Turns out, the simple joys can be just as magical for kids. Over 75% of parents say their children find just as much wonder on a free walk in the woods as they do on an expensive day out. But here’s a twist: around 1 in 5 kids under 10 might have a sight condition affecting their ability to enjoy these everyday wonders. 😲

Here’s an idea: when kids have good sight, parents can be tight with their wallets! Teaming up with young wildlife enthusiast and TV presenter Aneeshwar Kunchala, a new project has curated a map of the best free sights in the UK. From Bristol’s “Quite Tall Pointy Rock” to Yorkshire’s “A Very Mossy Wall,” these spots offer free fun without the costly gift shop exits.

Aneeshwar, acting as a ‘chief tour guide’, points out the magic of nature as a wondrous sight for kids. Whether it’s a tree resembling a stick man or a stump that looks like a drum set (he calls it a “stump-set”), the everyday world is full of marvels. 🌳✨

So, why not give your wallet a break and let your kids’ curiosity take the lead? While at it, a free eye test could ensure they don’t miss out on these small wonders. Surprisingly, 19% of kids haven’t had a check-up in the recommended two years, and 12% have never had one.

Remember: spotting vision issues early means preserving their ability to enjoy life’s little wonders – all while saving you potentially hundreds on outings.

Discover the UK’s best free sights for your next family adventure and let your kids lead the way to wonder! 🌍👀
