🏆 Unbelievable scenes as Newport County pull off a miraculous escape from relegation! 🎉
Christian Fuchs’ squad clinched their English Football League survival with a nail-biting 2-1 victory against Barrow. Heading into the match, County found themselves in a precarious 21st position, needing nothing less than a win to dodge the drop. As fate would have it, their opponents, Barrow, were at the bottom and already down and out.
Things didn’t start well, with Newport conceding a goal early on. But a penalty save by Jordan Wright gave them a sliver of hope. That was all they needed!
Just as hearts were sinking, Bobby Kamwa took matters into his own hands. He dazzled through Barrow’s defence, netting a stunning goal that sent the away fans into a frenzy! ⚽🔥
Meanwhile, other results were swinging in their favour, but Newport were determined to secure their future on their own terms. When the final whistle blew, they achieved not just survival but secured the 20th spot in the league.
Huge cheers for our boys in amber and black! Safe and sound in League Two, four points clear of the dreaded relegation zone. What a rollercoaster!
