🏉 Lions Tour Clash! Did ref Andrea Piardi get it right?
Remember last summer’s epic Lions Test series in Australia? 🇦🇺🏴 The drama reached a fever pitch with Jac Morgan’s controversial clearout. With time ticking away and the Wallabies on the verge of levelling the series, Hugo Keenan’s late try clinched victory for the Lions. But the real buzz was around Morgan’s move at the breakdown.
Australian fans weren’t thrilled, claiming the Welsh captain’s action was illegal. After intense TMO scrutiny, Piardi and his fellow refs ruled it a fair play. Andrea Piardi shared with RugbyPass, “You need to believe in the decision you are making.” Despite the pressure cooker atmosphere, Piardi stood firm on his call.
Critics in Australia didn’t hold back, demanding answers from World Rugby. But Piardi remains defiant, confident in his decision in the heat of the moment. “It was about trusting ourselves,” he stated.
Despite the uproar, the second Test remains a highlight for Piardi, who cherished every second of that high-stakes clash. 🏟️
What’s your take? Was it the right call, or did the Wallabies get short-changed? 🤔💬
