🚨 Immigration Drama in Maesteg! 🚨

A popular kebab shop on Talbot Street, Maesteg, is in hot water after a visit from immigration enforcement officers. USA Chicken, Pizza and Kebabs is facing a licence review following the discovery of illegal workers on the premises.
The Home Office Immigration Enforcement submitted an application to Bridgend County Borough Council, claiming the takeaway had not met legal standards concerning crime and disorder prevention. The drama began last May when the Swansea ICE team showed up unannounced after receiving tips about illegal employment at the location. Five employees were present, with two identified as immigration offenders.

Fast forward to April 8, 2026: the council was set to decide the fate of the shop’s licence. The options? Modify, suspend, revoke, or leave it unchanged. The enforcement team pushed for a licence revocation, but a twist emerged in the plot—a need for a Turkish interpreter led to an adjournment.
The council agreed, acknowledging that proceeding without an interpreter could unfairly impact both parties. A new meeting is on the horizon, and the kebab shop’s future hangs in the balance. Stay tuned for more updates as the story unfolds! 🍕🌯
