Exciting Changes Coming to Llynfi Valley! 🏡

The Bridgend County Borough Council has greenlit an ambitious project to transform the site of an old petrol station in Llynfi Valley into a vibrant housing estate! 🚧🏠 Situated just across from Ysgol Gyfun Gymraeg Llangynwyd Secondary School, this 2.3-hectare site is set to make way for 82 new homes.

Lewis Homes is leading the charge with plans to build a mix of terrace/townhouses, semi-detached, and detached houses, as well as a nine-apartment block. Plus, expect lush open spaces, internal landscaping, updated access roads, and modern infrastructure to complement the new community. 🌳🚗

While the neighbourhood is buzzing with anticipation, some residents have voiced concerns over the height of the apartment block, potential traffic congestion, and noise. Local councillors have acknowledged these issues, noting the existing demands on the A4063. Yet, experts assure that the congestion impact has been thoroughly assessed with plans for an active travel scheme to keep the flow smooth. 🚦
Despite a handful of public objections, the development was unanimously approved, and we can look forward to a fresh, new residential area enriching the community. Keep an eye out as this project takes shape and revitalises a piece of Llynfi Valley! 🏘️🌟
