Heartbreaking News from Victoria Pendleton 💔

Former Olympic star Victoria Pendleton has sadly announced the passing of her father, Max, after battling Parkinson’s disease and dementia. In a heartfelt Instagram post, Victoria shared her grief and paid tribute to her dad, who passed away on Saturday. She honoured Max for his unwavering support throughout her cycling career, saying she “wouldn’t have achieved anything” without him.

Max, a former grass track champion himself, played a pivotal role in Victoria’s success, nurturing her love for cycling from a young age. Victoria fondly remembers him as someone who not only pushed himself but also inspired countless others in the cycling community.
This tragedy comes just two years after Victoria lost her twin brother, Alex, to a brain tumour. Sharing a poignant image of Alex and Max together, she reflected on cherished memories of both, capturing them as they were—joyful and unscripted.
Her father’s passing is a tough blow, following the emotional loss of her “brave twinnie.” Alex, who was once diagnosed with leukemia and later with a brain tumour, had an indomitable spirit that Victoria continues to celebrate.
In a tribute to Alex, she even got his name tattooed across her chest, carrying him with her always. Victoria remains an inspiring figure, embodying resilience and love in the face of profound personal loss. Our hearts go out to her during this challenging time. 💔
Rest in peace, Max and Alex. 🚴♂️🕊️
