Over 540 people signed online petitions to protest the mast installation, fearing it would tarnish the town’s character, overshadow homes, and threaten its natural beauty. The proposal was initially rejected by planners, but development company Freshwave Facilities Limited appealed, arguing the mast’s necessity for boosting local signals.

However, the Council chiefs stood firm, rejecting the appeal by citing “significant harm” to New Quay’s charming scenery. This delightful harbour town, praised by Holiday Cars as “a happy medium for those seeking relaxation but not isolation,” remains untouched for now.

🌅 Known for its stunning sunsets and exciting boat trips for dolphin and seal spotting, New Quay continues to be a haven for locals and visitors alike. With its quaint atmosphere and beloved fish and chips, it’s no wonder it was crowned the top seaside resort!

Despite arguments from developers, town planners received over 40 objections, with many passionately voicing their concerns over potential noise, the towering presence of the mast, and its impact on tourism. The inspector’s report highlighted that the mast would be “alien to its surroundings” and excessively dominant, leading to the final rejection.

Cheers to the resilience of New Quay’s community for preserving their beautiful slice of coastal paradise! 🐬🍟🏖️
