🚫 No Sauna By The Sea? Swansea Says “No Way!” 🚫

A sauna at picturesque Caswell Bay finds itself in hot water after planning permission was officially rejected. Halsa Sauna, dubbed as a “beachside bliss where sauna meets the sea,” was denied the go-ahead due to local uproar over noise, naughty glimpses, and parking pandemonium! 😱

From sun up at 7am to sundown at 9pm, this seemingly serene spot promised stunning sea views through its circular window. But neighbours weren’t impressed by the sight of semi-naked sauna-goers and the noise that accompanied them. 💦
What’s more, guests had to park up to hundreds of metres away and hike in – not exactly a warm welcome! 🚶♂️
Planning officers received 43 objections, citing everything from unauthorised parking to the “screaming” and visibility of guests enjoying the facilities. The lack of toilets also sparked complaints, and some residents reported Halsa patrons pinching their parking spots! 🚗
Newsflash: Forget about showering in the spotlight! With no proper walkway from the public car park, safety concerns added to the mix. 🌳
The council concluded that the sauna didn’t fit in with Gower’s outstanding natural beauty. Plus, having a closer look at the wooden staircase and fencing, it could be seen from both Caswell Bay and Wales Coast Path. Not so tucked away after all!
While Halsa’s application promised ecological extras like bird and bat boxes, it wasn’t enough to sway Swansea Council, who refused permission, declaring the sauna’s noise and proximity to homes as inappropriate. 🙅♀️
Despite outreach attempts to Mr. Davies, Halsa’s boss, we’ve heard nothing yet. He’s got the chance to appeal, but who knows what’s next for this beachside hot spot? 🤷♂️
