Drama erupted at a Cardiff Job Centre when 26-year-old Rhodri Hewings unleashed a furious tirade after being told he couldn’t take his bicycle into the building. The incident left staff and visitors rattled as the Job Centre was briefly locked down.

Arriving late for an appointment, Hewings was stopped by a security guard and things got heated. In a shocking verbal attack, he threatened the guard saying, “You do that to me and you’ll be dead mate.” π±
Not stopping there, Hewings continued his outburst, calling the guard offensive names and demanding to see the manager. In a bizarre twist, he began punching himself and challenged the security guard to step outside. π¨π
Just when things seemed to calm, Hewings returned, wedging his bike and head in the doors to prevent them closing, amid more profanities and threats. Staff had to evacuate the building via a rear exit as police were called in to diffuse the situation.
The security guard later described the ordeal as “frightening” and labelled Hewings’ behaviour as “erratic”. Following the incident, Hewings pleaded guilty to using threatening, abusive and insulting words. He’s now facing a 12-month community order and a 15-day rehabilitation program. βοΈπ
Tensions may have flared, but letβs hope everyone involved can move on and learn from this intense moment! Stay kind out there, folks! ππ #StaySafe #CommunityFirst #CardiffNews
