🚨🕷️Spider Stowaway Alarm!🕷️🚨
A primary school in Cambridgeshire got quite the surprise when a monstrous huntsman spider was found chilling among the schoolkids’ bananas! 😱 Imagine unboxing your morning delivery, only to discover an eight-legged visitor from the Ivory Coast.
The kitchen staff acted swiftly, snapping a picture and ringing up reptile expert Chris Newman. Chris, who works with the National Centre for Reptile Welfare (NCRW), identified the spider as a non-lethal huntsman. Still, can you blame them for being a little freaked out? 😅
Enter Adam Wilson, who bravely stepped up to relocate this wandering arachnid. The 32-year-old decided the spider would make a fascinating new pet. 🕷️❤️
While huntsman spiders pack a painfully venomous bite, they’re pretty laid back and only bite when provoked. They might look scary, but these critters are actually harmless and not uncommon around this time of year—though they’re usually hiding out in tropical fruit shipments! 🍌
Chris shared that it’s not unusual to see a few of these spiders hitchhiking their way to the UK each year. Fortunately, they never seem to cause any real harm, just a little heart-stopping surprise. 💥
Not a fan of spiders? Remember, the NCRW has got your back. If you stumble across any exotic spiders or reptiles, just send them a picture and they’ll help out, no panic necessary.
So, would you ever consider keeping a spider as a pet? Or does the thought just make your skin crawl? Let us know what you think! 😄👇
