A heart-wrenching case unfolded in Swansea as Jordanna Wheeler, 29, shockingly admitted to bludgeoning her dog to death with a saucepan after a night of heavy drinking. She returned home from a party, allegedly still intoxicated, and the tragic event took place, resulting in the poor dog’s death. The court heard how a bent saucepan was found at her flat, a testament to the horrific force used in the assault on the Mastiff dog.

Police discovered the lifeless body in her untidy living room, which led to charges of causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal. Judge Geraint Walters called it “as savage an attack on an animal by a person as I have ever heard.”
Wheeler’s past is troubling, having faced a challenging childhood of neglect and abuse. Despite her history, including multiple assaults and an attempt to manipulate mental health evaluations, the court focused on potential rehabilitation. Her guilty plea garnered a reduced 16-month prison sentence, suspended for 18 months. She’s also obligated to complete a rehabilitation program, adhere to a 120-day alcohol abstinence, and abide by a three-month night-time curfew. Additionally, she’s prohibited from owning animals for the next decade.

While the judge acknowledged her difficult past, he made it clear that the responsibility lies with her. The general public remains outraged and heartbroken over this horrific act, echoing the sentiment that justice must be served to protect helpless animals.
