π’ Big news coming out of Ceredigion! Concerns are brewing over the proposed expansion at Ocean Heights Leisure Park in the quaint hamlet of Maen-y-groes, near the lovely seaside town of New Quay. πποΈ

The plan? Relocate 47 caravan pitches to this peaceful area, with 17 coming from Wern Mill Caravan Park and 30 from The Village Holiday Park. While the operator, Vale Holiday Parks, sees it as a “natural extension” to Ocean Heights, local voices β including the Llanllwchaearn community council β are raising red flags! π¨

The council’s worried about the site doubling in size and potential road safety issues, not to mention the stress on wastewater infrastructure. Residents are branding it a βmassive overdevelopment,β and the planning officer isnβt convinced either, citing concerns about sustainability, increased car travel, and loss of valuable greenfield land.

This recommendation for refusal has been postponed in the past due to new information, but as the decision date fast approaches on June 10th, all eyes are on whether this contentious proposal will get the green light β or be stopped in its tracks. βοΈβ
Stay tuned for more updates, and let us know your thoughts! Is this expansion a step forward or a step too far? π€π¬ #Ceredigion #OceanHeights #LocalNews #CommunityVoices
