⚠️ Serious Health Warning: Rugby Player Hospitalised Due to Dog Mess Infection at Tondu RFC ⚠️

Rugby enthusiasts, heads up! A shocking incident has left one of Tondu RFC’s players, Adam Lang, unable to work or play rugby after contracting a severe infection from dog mess found on the pitch.
After a match at Pandy Park, Adam noticed a worrying issue with his arm which rapidly worsened, forcing him to seek emergency medical treatment. Doctors revealed that a cut on his arm had become badly infected, requiring intensive antibiotic treatment via an IV drip for 48 hours at the Royal Glamorgan Hospital.

Club Chairman, Graham Thomas, has labeled the incident as “incredibly dangerous” and is calling for tighter control and consciousness among dog owners around sports fields. Tondu RFC, which hosts over 250 young players and 100 seniors weekly, faces ongoing frustration due to irresponsible pet owners. Children have previously ended their training sessions early for the very same reason.

The club and local council are advocating for stricter measures to keep dogs off the fields, expressing that 99% of owners are considerate, but the remaining few jeopardise the safety of all players. Bridgend Council is actively reviewing regulations to possibly ban dogs from playing fields altogether.
Let’s ensure sports facilities are safe for all. Please, ALWAYS pick up after your pets! 🚫🐶
Remember, this was entirely preventable, and we must all play our part to stop such incidents from happening again. Spread the word! 🙌 #Rugby #DogOwners #StaySafe #PandyPark
