🚨 A night of bravery and tragedy: A police hero’s story 🚨

PC James Marsden from Anglesey faced a nightmare when responding to a domestic violence call last December. While attempting to arrest a suspect, he sustained a horrific injury—part of his ear was bitten off.

The attacker, Kevin Jones, 40, resisted arrest and gruesomely assaulted PC Marsden, leading to a shocking injury that left Marsden permanently disfigured. Despite this, Marsden displayed incredible courage and continued to conduct his duty, trying to assist his colleagues even after the assault.
Jones was eventually subdued, arrested, and has since been sentenced to over three years in prison. But the scars run deeper than the injury; PC Marsden’s courage in the face of danger highlights the daily risks our police officers endure to keep us safe.
Following this harrowing experience, PC Marsden has been honoured at the Police Bravery Awards 2025. Accompanied by his supportive partner Gemma and colleagues, he attended a prestigious ceremony in Downing Street, celebrating his relentless bravery.
PC Marsden remarked on the day as unforgettable, expressing gratitude for being recognised and standing alongside other courageous officers. His story is a testament to the selfless dedication of our police force.
As North Wales Police Federation’s Lewis Davies highlights, Marsden’s ordeal underscores the perils officers face daily. It’s a stark reminder of the dangers encountered in the line of duty and the profound impact on the lives of those who serve and protect.
Join us in extending our heartfelt support and appreciation for PC Marsden’s bravery. His story is one of resilience, strength, and unwavering dedication. 🙌💙
