🚨 Crime Crackdown in Greater Manchester! 🚨

Ever thought your local shop’s biscuit aisle could be hiding secrets? Police and Trading Standards officials in Bury recently unearthed an elaborate hiding spot inside such an aisle. Behind a false wall, they discovered a stash of illicit tobacco worth £3,000! The crafty setup featured a hydraulic ramp controlled by a switch or fob, showcasing the sophisticated lengths criminals will go to in avoiding the law.

🚨 Operation Avro is Greater Manchester Police’s monthly initiative, blitzing different districts to tackle crime. In Radcliffe, this led to a series of early morning raids. Officers discovered Class A and B drugs and made 28 arrests! The community’s support is proving vital, with information on local crime helping make these operations successful.
🕵️♂️ Chief Superintendent Kirsty Oliver reassured residents about the ongoing fight against crime: “We’re committed to public safety and are using new tools like live facial recognition to aid our efforts. This operation isn’t just about today; it’s gathering intel for a bigger plan. We value your support as we continue to protect our communities.”
👀 The operation wasn’t just about enforcement. Inside Millgate shopping centre, a temporary hub offered guidance on Claire’s Law and child safeguarding, emphasising the importance of keeping residents informed and protected.
👮♀️ Sergeant Clarke highlighted the community’s role: “Your information is crucial. Without it, those causing harm roam free. Today’s action shows we’re listening and acting.”
Stay vigilant, Manchester! Together, we can make our streets safer. 💪
