🚧 Exciting Times Ahead for Pontypridd! 🚧

Big changes are coming to the heart of Pontypridd! Plans are underway to transform the old police station and Berw Road car park into something amazing. Rhondda Cynon Taf Council is dreaming up a vibrant mixed-use space. Imagine a modern car park, new homes, shops, cafés, and a bustling public area all in one!

Here’s what’s on the table:
✨ A brand-new car park
✨ Improved public spaces and better travel links
✨ Possible residential, commercial, and cultural spots
Back in 2024, the Council snapped up the police station from South Wales Police. There’s a new police hub in town, so they’re not leaving! Meanwhile, the Berw Road Car Park is in for a serious makeover, as it’s seen better days.
This project is getting a boost from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund and the Welsh Government’s Transforming Towns programme. Demolition is pencilled in for Spring 2027, so expect to see some changes soon!
Councillor Mark Norris is buzzing about the project’s potential to rejuvenate one of Pontypridd’s key gateways. With plenty of community updates along the way, everyone will be in the loop as plans develop.
Pontypridd is evolving from past projects like Y Muni and Llys Cadwyn, and this is yet another leap forward to making the town centre the place to be.
Keep your eyes peeled for further updates as this exciting chapter unfolds! 🌈🏗️
