So, why the delay? It all comes down to an unfortunate system error. 🤦‍♂️ Ovo missed the March 2024 deadline, leaving many scrambling during the chilliest months. Of the impacted customers, a substantial number were classified as vulnerable, relying on energy support due to medical needs and other challenges.

But there’s good news! All affected households have been notified, and no action is needed on your part—compensation will be processed automatically.

Ovo is making things right with direct payments to those affected, including ÂŁ150 for all impacted customers, an extra ÂŁ150 for medically vulnerable folks, and ÂŁ100 for those experiencing “self-disconnection” between March and May 2024.

The Warm Home Discount is designed to help low-income households, especially those susceptible to cold-related illnesses or facing fuel poverty. Ofgem has taken a firm stand on issues like this, ensuring energy providers deliver their obligations—or face consequences.⚡

Ovo has admitted they missed the mark but promises measures will be in place to prevent this in the future. They’re working to ensure this hiccup doesn’t happen again.

If you’re an Ovo customer, keep an eye on your account for the compensation you’re entitled to. Stay warm and take care, folks! 🏡✨
