π¨ Heartbreaking story from West Wales: A man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for the horrific crime of raping a teenage girl while she was on a family holiday.

π Leon Kidner, 34, attacked the 15-year-old in a caravan in Carmarthenshire after plying her with cannabis and knowing she had been drinking. Despite his claims of consensual activity, a jury rejected his account. The court heard that Kidner has 34 previous convictions for 71 offences, and his actions have left the young victim with lasting scars.
π©ββοΈ The judge sent Kidner down, emphasising the “wickedness” of his actions and their lifelong impact on the girl. She bravely shared her trauma in a statement, expressing how the ordeal has left her feeling “violated” and struggling with everyday life. Her courage throughout the investigation has been nothing short of inspiring.

π΅οΈββοΈ Detective Constable Katie Rees praised the victimβs strength and welcomed the sentence, hoping it brings some closure. Kidner is now a registered sex offender for life, under a sexual harm prevention order.
