In a deeply disturbing case, 38-year-old Luke Enos was sentenced to two years in prison after subjecting his pregnant ex-partner to a horrific attack. After consuming alcohol and smoking crack cocaine, Enos became violent, assaulting her in a brutal manner at his flat.
Despite her attempts to leave, Enos, consumed by rage, punched, throttled, and kicked her in the stomach – all while being aware of her pregnancy. In a further act of humiliation, he stripped off and performed an indecent act in front of her before following her into the street.
The incident escalated when the woman, fearing for her life, managed to escape to a nearby taxi, which took her to safety.
Judge Paul Thomas condemned Enos’ assault as “sustained, merciless, and brutal.” Despite 20 previous convictions for 34 offences, Enos demonstrated no remorse during the trial.
