π Exciting news for rugby fans! π

Wales star Tomas Francis is gearing up for an epic return to the Gallagher Premiership with his recent signing to Sale Sharks. After nearly three years in France with Provence, the 33-year-old prop is back on UK soil and has his eyes on wearing the Welsh red jersey once again.

Francis, who boasts 77 caps, hasn’t played for Wales since the 2023 Rugby World Cup. He never officially retired from international play; instead, he chose to enjoy family life in France while eyeing a return. With his move to Sale, he’s better positioned to make a Test comeback, especially given Wales’ current need for experienced tightheads.

The star prop is thrilled about joining Sale, particularly playing alongside fellow Welshman Nicky Smith. “My first taste of rugby was with Sale,β Francis shared. βIt feels like a full circle moment coming back here. Playing in a top-tier team again is the perfect way to keep my Welsh ambitions alive.”
Sale’s director of rugby, Alex Sanderson, is just as thrilled, praising Francis’s vast experience and ambition. “Tomβs hunger to play at the top level is inspiring. His addition, along with Nickyβs, brings nearly 140 caps of invaluable experience,β Sanderson noted.
Could we soon see Francis back in action for Wales? It looks promising! π½πͺ
