“I’m genuinely open to whoever they support,” William admitted, despite being a die-hard Aston Villa fan. He was even seen celebrating wildly during Villa’s recent 4-0 win over Nottingham Forest, securing their spot in the Europa League final against Freiburg.
The Prince has attended numerous Villa matches with George, hoping to sway his son, but is now backing George’s choice of Chelsea. William even noted that since Frank Lampard’s managerial stint, he’s more comfortable with Chelsea’s vibe. It’s all about finding the right fit, and he’s eager for his kids to love the beautiful game, whatever badge they wear.
With the FA Cup final approaching where Chelsea is set to take on Manchester City, the Blues have had a rough season and aren’t favoured to win. Yet, George’s support remains steadfast, echoing William’s earlier words about supporting clubs with values and positive ethos.
