💔 **Heartbreaking News from Ashvale** 🚍

The close-knit community of St Joseph’s RC Primary School in Tredegar is reeling after their cherished minibus was stolen and found burnt out on a mountain road near Merthyr Tydfil. This minibus was more than just a vehicle—it was a vital lifeline enabling pupils to attend sporting events, cultural activities, and community gatherings.

Headteacher John McMorrow shared the emotional impact of the theft: “Our school relied on that minibus for enriching our children’s education and connecting with our community. Its theft doesn’t just affect us, but also neighbouring schools who frequently borrowed it. The prohibitive costs of rentals make this an immense loss not just for us, but for the entire community.”
The bus disappeared on Sunday evening, with CCTV capturing two individuals committing the crime. The heartache deepened when only the burnt shell was found, shocking not just the school staff but also parents and pupils. Mr. McMorrow added, “Telling our Year 5 and 6 students was incredibly tough—they were devastated.”
Parents are rallying, already brainstorming fundraising ideas to replace the bus. This community spirit, while uplifting, highlights the void left by such a senseless act.
