🚨 Breaking News: Welsh boxer and former world champion, Joe Cordina, has pleaded not guilty to two counts of assault by beating outside a petrol station in Cardiff.

Appearing before Cardiff Magistrates’ Court, the 34-year-old confirmed his personal details but denied the charges related to an alleged incident with Jamie O’Brien on February 27. A trial has been scheduled for October 13, so stay tuned for updates.

In a twist, O’Brien, 32, is also facing charges of assault against Cordina. However, he hasn’t entered any pleas yet, pushing his case until later in August.
In the boxing ring, Cordina was set to face Abdullah Mason for the WBO lightweight title in Cleveland. However, visa issues have dashed those plans. Expressing his frustration on Instagram, Cordina revealed his disappointment over not being able to compete for the world title in America, a long-time dream of his.
Cordina clarified that the decision wasn’t due to injuries, despite reports, and extended his sympathies to his would-be opponent Mason, describing the whole situation as gutting.
