Exciting times in athletics! Welsh discus thrower Harrison Walsh is setting his sights on the 2028 Los Angeles Paralympics, determined to bring home the gold. After finishing fifth in the F44 event at the World Championships in New Delhi, he views this experience as a pivotal learning opportunity. Despite the intense competition, which saw British teammate Dan Greaves taking bronze, Walsh remains focused on his ultimate goal.

Reflecting on his performance, Walsh said, “I’m frustrated with the fifth, but that’s what I deserved. It’s all about building for LA.” With a valiant throw of 51.49m in the Indian capital, heβs determined to peak at just the right time. This year’s experiences, including dealing with the heat, have only reinforced his resolve. “If this is what I have to do to learn about throwing in the heat of LA, then so be it,” adds Walsh, embracing every challenge on the road to LA.

Harrison is part of a strong team of over 30 British athletes competing globally, backed by finance partner Novuna. He’s been working hard to stay healthy and injury-free, and he’s confident this dedication will pay off. “I do fully believe that I can take gold in LA β or at least get among those medals.”
Let’s cheer on Harrison as he takes his next steps toward Paralympic glory! π₯πͺ
