📢 Exciting plans ahead for the Welsh economy!

Plaid Cymru’s leader, Rhun ap Iorwerth, has laid out an ambitious agenda to give the Welsh economy a much-needed boost if they form the next Welsh Government.

🎯 100-Day Action Plan Highlights:
– Launch a Wales-wide skills audit to match people with jobs and promote economic growth. The aim is to connect skills with future job opportunities across various sectors.
– Increase the spend on goods and services with Welsh suppliers from 55% to 70% of the total public procurement expenditure—benefiting local businesses across Wales.
– Revamp business rates to favour town centre businesses over out-of-town shopping hubs, providing reliefs for retail, hospitality, and leisure sectors—strengthening our high streets!
🏗️ An economic rejuvenation plan includes:
– Creating a national development agency, independent from the Welsh Government, to streamline business support, ensuring regional bodies like the Cardiff Capital Region work at their full potential.
– Convene a future skills summit with education and business stakeholders, crafting a unified vision for Wales’s skills system.
– A review of the tangled web of business support initiatives, making them more streamlined and effective.
🗣️ In Rhun’s words: “The future of our economy isn’t just about policies within government buildings. It’s about empowering risk-takers, innovators, and our workforce across Wales.”
