🐶🚨 **Woof, What’s Going On?** 🚨🐶

Ever since the ban on XL bully dogs was put in place, Welsh police have been busy, and we’ve got the numbers to prove it! Since February 2024, a whopping 371 dogs believed to be XL bullies have been seized across Wales. But which areas are seeing the most action?

🔍 **Who’s Leading the Pack?**
– **Gwent Police** are top dogs, with 140 seizures, of which 155 are confirmed as banned breeds.
– **South Wales Police** follow with 81 dogs taken in, 71 of which are XL bullies.
– **Dyfed-Powys Police** snagged 49, with 29 confirmed as XL bullies.
– **North Wales Police** joined later, seizing 20 dogs, 18 being XL bullies.
📉 **What’s Happened to These Pooches?**
Out of the 273 confirmed XL bullies, 99 have sadly been put down by vets. The regions saw the following:
– Gwent: 50
– South Wales: 28
– Dyfed-Powys: 17
– North Wales: 4
But it’s not all sad tails. Some good news—68 dogs initially seized were NOT XL bullies and have been happily reunited with their humans! 🎉
🐾 **Why the Fuss?**
Owning, breeding, or even walking an XL bully without a lead and muzzle has been illegal unless you hold a certificate of exemption. The aim? To cut down on dangerous dog incidents, given the 600 hospital admissions in Wales over the last year alone.
Let’s keep the conversation going: should more restrictions be in place, or do we need better training and education for dog owners? Share your thoughts and let’s woof about it! 🗣️💬
