Good news for Rhondda Cynon Taf residents! After an unprecedented May heatwave left thousands boiling water before use, it’s finally safe to drink straight from the tap again. ⚠️

The trouble began last Friday when Welsh Water identified a hiccup in the chemical treatment process. That led to a boil water notice across much of the county. But don’t worry—bottled water stations were set up to keep everyone hydrated during those scorching days.
Fast forward to Tuesday evening: extensive testing has now confirmed the water is back to its usual high standards. 🚰

For everyone put out by this, Welsh Water’s got your back with some financial compensation. Households will receive £40 after 48 hours, with an extra £20 for every additional day. And businesses won’t miss out either, as they’ll get £60 plus £40 for each day beyond that. Payments will be automatic—easy peasy! 💸
Big thanks from Welsh Water’s Chief Operating Officer, Steve Wilson, for your patience and understanding. He extends gratitude to local council members and partners for their great support during this hiccup. Health and safety have been priority number one, and relief is finally here.
Remember to stay hydrated and enjoy some refreshing tap water from your own kitchen now. 💦
