Locals are buzzing with mixed opinions over a proposed Lidl store just on the edge of Tenby! 🛒 While 89% of people support the idea, the local community council isn’t too happy with the planned location in New Hedges. The site, near Park Court Nursing Home, boasts modern designs, 103 parking spaces, and promises 40 new jobs. Lidl has made strides across the UK, and they’re ready to expand further, but not everyone is on board.
The council argues the spot is unsuitable, pointing out potential traffic chaos on the A478, especially during tourist season. Concerns about noise, traffic disturbances, and the impact on a nearby care home are making locals hesitant. 🌳 Planners from Pembrokeshire Council also flag the visual impact, cautioning that the store could clash with the rural vibe, affecting the National Park’s setting.
Lidl, however, sees it as a chance to boost the local economy, increase retail options, and offer job opportunities to people of all backgrounds. The tension is palpable as officials prepare to make a decision.
So, what do you think? Should a new Lidl come to town, or is there a better spot for it? 🤔 Share your thoughts! #Tenby #LidlDebate #CommunityTalks
