In shocking news, Mike Jones, previously Mark Baker, has been unmasked as a paedophile by decoy social media accounts. Known online as “Ugly Duckling,” the 51-year-old former lorry driver was caught attempting to engage in sexual conversations with what he thought were two 14-year-old girls. Unbeknownst to him, he was talking to paedophile hunter groups posing as young girls on sites like Mingle.
Despite being under a suspended prison sentence and a sexual harm prevention order, Jones brazenly asked for inappropriate pictures and engaged in sexually explicit chats. The judiciary in Swansea Crown Court expressed disbelief at his repeated offences, stressing that Jones has failed to learn from past mistakes.
Jones has a controversial past, with a suspended sentence in 2015 for causing death by careless driving. This latest crime mirrors a 2024 conviction for similar offences where decoys posed as 12, 13, and 14-year-olds. Faced with failure to reform, Jones received a 30-month prison sentence.
His defence argued that Jones has been battling mental health issues, worsened by the guilt of his past driving incident.
