Exciting news for all visitors of Waterfall Country! A brand-new 136-space car park has just opened in Pontneddfechan, aiming to ease the usual congestion and ‘indiscriminate parking’ during those busy summer months. Known for its stunning waterfalls and lush countryside, this popular beauty spot was in dire need of some traffic relief. Thanks to the UK Government’s Levelling Up Fund, over £7 million was invested to make this happen!

The new facility is not just a car park; it’s part of a major initiative for “sustainable tourism” in the area. Open daily from 8 am to 10 pm, the site also boasts new toilet facilities. Parking costs a flat rate of £6, keeping it consistent with the region and carefully planned to manage the number of visitors.

And there’s more on the way! Soon, you can look forward to an eight-bedroom family-friendly accommodation, a farm/community shop, and a children’s play area. All these are designed to make your visit even more enjoyable while helping to reduce traffic and improve safety for the local community.
Just last April, traffic orders were put into place to curb ‘indiscriminate parking’ around the area, particularly on B4242 Pontneathvaughan Road. This move complements the new pay-and-display parking setup, ensuring a stress-free experience for nature lovers and families alike.
So, next time you head to Neath Port Talbot for a waterfall adventure, park with ease and enjoy all the new amenities! 🌿🚗✨
