🐾 Let’s talk about a cleaner Rhondda Cynon Taf! 🚮
Did you know the local council is launching a 3-year plan to keep our streets squeaky clean from dog mess? Yup, they’re looking to extend the public space protection orders (PSPOs) to tackle dog fouling head-on.
🐶 What does this mean for dog owners? Simple rules:
1. Clean up after your pooch and dispose of the mess properly.
2. Always carry a bag for those unexpected moments.
3. Keep Fido on a lead when needed.
The PSPOs have been around since 2017, reducing dog fouling on our streets from 18% then to around 10.9% last year. But we’d love to see those numbers drop even further, wouldn’t we?
Specific spots like Aberdare Park have a ‘leads-only’ rule. No-go zones for dogs include schools, children’s play areas, council-maintained cemeteries, and sports pitches. Defy these rules, and it’s a £100 fine – ouch!
The council is crowd-sourcing your thoughts until 20th July. 🌐 Jump into the public consultation and have your say on keeping our community a cleaner place for all. After that, your feedback will shape a decision about extending these orders.
Share your thoughts, share the roads, and let’s enjoy paw-some, cleaner public spaces together! 🐾🌍
