🇬🇧 Exciting News from Wales! 🎉
Today, Prince William graced us with his presence in Newport for a very special occasion. As the royal patron, he joined the Wales Air Ambulance Charity in celebrating their incredible 25-year journey. 🚁✨
In his heartfelt speech, Prince William applauded the dedication and skill of everyone involved, saying their work is something Wales can truly be proud of. 🌟 “For 25 years, this exceptional team has provided critical, life-saving care to communities across Wales,” he said. “Bringing advanced support directly to those in desperate times offers a glimpse of hope when it’s needed most. 🙌💖”
From its humble beginnings with a single helicopter back in 2001, launched on St David’s Day, the service now boasts a fleet of four aircraft plus rapid response vehicles, covering all of Wales 24/7. This consultant-led service ensures that cutting-edge hospital treatments are brought directly to patients or transfers them to the best-suited hospital. 🏥🚨
William, drawing on his own experience flying rescue helicopters, acknowledged the contributions of the volunteers, staff, and supporters who make this vital service possible. He said: “Tonight, we honour everyone making Wales Air Ambulance a beacon of hope. Its blend of clinical excellence and operational skill shines brightly, supported by generous souls across Wales. 🌍❤️”
The prince also highlighted the charity’s international reputation for outstanding service and evidence-based decision-making, ensuring top-notch care for the people of Wales. 🌍🏆
Here’s to 25 years of unwavering service and many more to come! 🎉 If ever there were a reason to feel a swell of national pride, this is it! Let’s continue supporting this life-changing mission. 💪
