Exciting changes are coming to Crymlyn Burrows, as Neath Port Talbot Council has given the green light to a new housing development! More than 150 homes will soon sprout on a vacant site just off Elba Crescent, right near the bustling Swansea University’s Bay Campus. ๐กโจ This 4.6-hectare plot will be transformed by Hawkland Estates Ltd into a lively community featuring a blend of one to four-bedroom homes, including affordable housing options.

The plans also include new access roads, a green space at the heart of the development, convenient parking, and potentially even a retail unit for local shopping needs. ๐ณ๐๏ธ

Though the project received 15 objections, mainly around traffic and parking concerns, the council officers are confident these new homes will enhance local housing stock without the worry of student accommodation taking over. They assure that any future applications for HMOs will require separate approval.
As for us, we’re just excited to see this old brownfield site get a fresh start with a vibrant neighbourhood that could boost local housing opportunities. Stay tuned, as the detailed designs and layouts still await final approval. If you’re in the area, keep an eye out for this transformation! ๐๐๏ธ
