🌧️ Tough Weather, Tough Race! 🌧️

The She Ultra race on the beautiful Llyn Peninsula tested the grit of over 2,000 incredible women this year! Despite the world’s largest all-female ultra marathon being hit by challenging weather conditions and “heavily saturated” ground, the spirit of the participants was truly inspiring.

In its three-year run, She Ultra has grown massively, raising tens of thousands for women battling cancer. But with the growth came a few hiccups. Some runners faced a “chaotic” start, an “anti-climax” finish, and frustrating bottlenecks—even standing for over an hour waiting to move along the course.
Runner Chemane Thomas gave an “honest review” of the event, highlighting issues like the poorly implemented staggered start and promises of ‘All-Female Aid Station Teams’ not quite met. She described waiting around the route while lacking checkpoints and marshals left many frustrated. Some issues have already been acknowledged by organisers, who promise improvements next year!
Despite these challenges, the vibe was amazing. Many participants, like Esther Cadogan, hailed the experience as “incredible” despite weather-induced challenges. Together with her colleague Suzie, she raised over £1,600 and has already signed up for next year, trusting the organisers will smooth out any bumps for another empowering race.
From red carpet finishes to stunning views of the Llŷn Peninsula, the She Ultra remains an iconic race with a heart-driven mission. Here’s to another year of empowerment and pushing limits! 🏃♀️💪
