🚮 Littering on Hendrefoilan Road – A Scenic Route Turned Rubbish Tip! 🚮

If there’s one thing that’s hard to ignore, it’s the unsightly rubbish lining the beautiful Hendrefoilan Road in Swansea. This picturesque lane, connecting Sketty and Killay, has become a hotspot for fly-tipping. From empty cans, bottles, to even a battered umbrella and a food waste caddy, the litter callously dumped here is disappointingly plentiful.

Councillors in the Dunvant and Killay areas are calling for change. They’re urging locals to play their part in keeping Swansea pristine and are keen to see the council tackle this ongoing issue. The council has been proactive, forming special road teams to address litter in hard-to-reach areas without pavements. Recently, they cleared half a tonne of waste from roadside verges in just one operation!
💬 Dunvant and Killay councillors, along with Cllr Mary Jones from Sketty, are determined to keep pushing for cleaner streets. As they say, seeing such filth when everyone is trying to maintain a beautiful area is troubling.
The Labour-run council plans to invest an extra £474,000 into these cleansing teams next year, along with a significant bolster to the fly-tipping service. 🌿
Charity Keep Wales Tidy notes that this roadside litter hurts not just the environment, but also the stunning views and wildlife we cherish. Together, let’s keep our roads clean and safeguard Swansea’s beauty for everyone to enjoy. 💚
Can you help? Next time you pass through, imagine a cleaner, more beautiful stretch of countryside and do your part by keeping it litter-free. 🌟
Let’s rally together to change the narrative and treat every roadside like the treasure it should be! 🌳✨
