🚨 Norovirus Alert at Royal Gwent Hospital! 🚨

We’ve got an important update for those around Newport. The Royal Gwent Hospital has had a spike in norovirus cases, affecting 90 patients and 28 staff members. To tackle this bug, they’ve put some strict safety measures in place.

🔍 **Visiting with a Purpose Only!** 🏥
Visiting is now limited to essential reasons like delivering personal items, mental wellbeing support, and end-of-life care. Make sure you contact the ward before heading over, and be prepared that you might not be allowed in if you just show up.
Symptoms to watch for:
– 🤢 Sickness or diarrhoea
– 🤧 Cough
– 🤒 Cold or flu-like symptoms
If you’ve had any of these, please stay away from the hospital until you’re symptom-free for at least 48 hours. And if you do visit, remember to wash your hands frequently and wear a mask!
Still got an appointment? No worries—just come in unless you’re feeling under the weather.
This hasn’t been an easy decision, but it’s all about keeping everyone safe and healthy. Thanks for your understanding and cooperation! 💙
Stay safe, Gwent! 🌟
