Here’s the lowdown: Between May and September 2020, Wagh applied for loans across four companies she owned. Claiming they had healthy turnovers, Wagh secured £216,250 and redirected most of the cash into her personal bank accounts. Instead of boosting her businesses, she splurged on personal debts and invested heavily in stocks and shares.

She wasn’t done! Wagh pulled off multiple applications, each time inflating company earnings and sidestepping rules to pocket the maximum £50,000 loan per business. She even wired over £25,000 to India!

Her antics caught up with her, and upon investigation, she claimed confusion and personal financial difficulties. But the Merthyr Tydfil Crown Court saw through the excuses. Despite her clean past record and a plea that her actions weren’t motivated by a lavish lifestyle, she faced the music. Wagh was sentenced to 27 months in prison.

David Snasdell of the Insolvency Service stated: “When faced with evidence, Wagh initially blamed others before admitting her sole involvement.”

This serves as a chilling reminder of the serious consequences of exploiting schemes meant for those in genuine need. Let’s keep it honest, folks! 💬
