A shocking discovery of a puppy farm with nearly 40 dogs living in appalling conditions in a Cardiff home has left animal welfare officers and neighbours reeling. The three-bedroom semi-detached house was described as being in a “putrid” state, with officers noting the overwhelming stench of faeces and urine. The scene was so distressing that some were physically sick upon entering.

This discovery was made after a tip-off about a possible “dead body” smell emanating from the property. Turan Kiran, 48, was found living with the dogs in these horrific conditions, while Cetin Kiral, 34, was associated with one of the animals. During the inspection, the officers found 38 dogs, mainly French bulldogs, living in cramped, filthy spaces with faeces smeared up the walls. Some dogs were in such poor health that their fur was matted with waste, and their paws burnt from sitting in puddles of urine. Shockingly, a fridge in the living room contained dead puppies alongside food.

Despite the abhorrent state, both Kiran and Kiral claimed there was no intent to harm the dogs, arguing they were simply overwhelmed by the situation. However, the court found them guilty of causing unnecessary suffering to protected animals.
Kiran was handed an 18-week suspended sentence with 150 hours of unpaid work and a rehabilitation requirement, while Kiral received a nine-week suspended sentence, 120 hours of unpaid work, and was ordered to pay back £27,000.
This case highlights the urgent need for vigilance in animal welfare, reminding us all to speak up if something seems amiss in our neighborhoods. Let this be a wake-up call about the conditions some poor animals are forced to endure.📢🐾 #AnimalWelfare #StopAnimalCruelty #Cardiff
