This distressing incident comes just a day after another dog was found under suspicious circumstances in Bristol. In that case, a lurcher-type puppy was discovered at the edge of a stream. The dog’s legs had been trapped beneath a large rock in what seemed like a deliberate act. The pup was only four to five months old, with no microchip, collar, or visible injuries but was in a sorry state of decomposition.
Both cases have prompted investigations by the RSPCA, and they’re urging anyone with information to come forward. RSPCA officer Melanie Froude recounted the shocking find, describing the courage of the individual who found the bag in the River Dee and the grim discovery inside. Officer Kimily Walters, leading the Bristol case, expressed concern for what these dogs might have endured.
