🚨 Be careful where you keep your vape! 🚨
Kerrie Roberts had a terrifying experience when her rechargeable vape battery exploded in her coat pocket, setting her clothing ablaze while she was in a friend’s car. Initially thinking the loud bang was the car breaking down, she quickly realised the danger when flames erupted from her coat, burning through her clothes and even damaging the car seat. Jumping out and rolling on the ground, Kerrie managed to extinguish the flames but sustained painful burns.
Rushed to hospital in Harlow, Essex, Kerrie underwent treatment, including blister care and bandaging. Fortunately, she’s been told she won’t need a skin graft, but must keep her burns protected from the sun and moisturised regularly for the next two years.
Kerrie, a mum of three, wants to raise awareness about the potential dangers of carrying vapes in pockets. She stresses the importance of safety, reflecting on how differently things could have gone if the incident had occurred in a more perilous situation, like on a busy road or, shockingly, just a week prior when she had the same battery on a plane.
Having been a vaper for a decade, Kerrie is switching to a resistance breather to help quit and urges others to be cautious about how they carry their vapes. Her advice? Never keep them close to your body or in places kids can reach. Let’s learn from her experience and stay safe! 🔥💨
