Graphic footage has emerged from a murder trial involving former Lostprophets frontman, Ian Watkins, who was found with his throat slashed in prison. The CCTV captures the chilling moments Watkins, covered in blood, stumbles out of his cell in HMP Wakefield after an alleged attack with a makeshift weapon. The footage is central to the trial at Leeds Crown Court, where Rico Gedel and Samuel Dodsworth stand accused of Watkins’ murder.

Watkins, known for his heinous crimes, was serving a long sentence for several sex offences since 2013. The footage shows Gedel allegedly approaching Watkins’ cell, with Dodsworth accused of acting as a lookout during the incident last October. Prosecutors presented clips showing the moments before and after the vicious assault.

Witnesses recounted seeing Watkins, clad in a denim shirt, staggering onto the landing while clutching his throat. Tragically, despite immediate medical attention, Watkins suffered cardiac arrest and was pronounced dead shortly after. The trial continues as jurors consider the grim evidence laid before them.
