Sir Cliff Richard recently opened up about his secret battle with prostate cancer during a chat on Good Morning Britain with Dermot Murnaghan. Initially discovered during a routine check-up needed for tour insurance, the news was a shock. Thankfully, the cancer was caught early and hadn’t spread. “The cancer’s gone at the moment,” Cliff shared.
He’s urging men everywhere to get tested early, saying we need to “get there, get tested, get checked.” Prostate cancer is the most prevalent and deadliest cancer among men, but many aren’t aware due to the lack of a national screening programme. Cliff believes it’s “absolutely ridiculous” that such a programme doesn’t exist, stressing that we all deserve early testing and treatment.
Dermot, who is also facing stage 4 prostate cancer, highlighted the importance of these conversations. Sir Cliff expressed his willingness to team up with those in high places to raise awareness, including His Majesty The King, who recently shared his own cancer journey.
