Heartbreaking news out of Newport: Charlene Dowsell, a beloved mum-of-four, tragically lost her life in what police are treating as a murder. Described as the “foundation” of her family, Charlene’s sudden passing has left her loved ones in shock and grief.

The incident occurred in the early hours on St Vincent Road, and Charlene was found a short distance away near Chepstow Road. Her family, supported by specialist officers, shared a moving tribute: “To our beautiful daughter Charlene, mum of four. You’re so loved by everyone who truly knew you. You’ve left us broken-hearted—gone are the days we used to share, but you’ll always be in our hearts.”

Charlene’s family is enduring a pain no one should bear, as her four children must now grow up without their cherished mum. They remember her as their cornerstone, facing a future that seems uncertain without her guiding presence.
Police have charged a Newport man, 66-year-old Albert Williams, with murder. To help bring justice for Charlene, officers are urging anyone with information or footage from the area between 1am and 3am on that tragic Saturday morning to come forward.
Let’s keep Charlene’s memory alive by supporting her family and helping the police with any information we can. Rest in peace, Charlene, forever in our hearts and never forgotten. 💔
