🚫 Foods a Top Cardiologist Would Avoid!

Keeping your heart healthy is more crucial than ever, especially as we age. One simple way to boost your heart health is through a balanced diet. But did you know certain foods can seriously ramp up your risk for heart disease? 🫀

Cardiologist Dr Mohammad Alo, famed for his heart health insights on TikTok, recently shared his blacklist of foods. According to him, these are no-gos due to their high saturated fat content—major culprits for raising “bad” LDL cholesterol, which can lead to heart attacks and strokes. Yikes!
Top of the list? Butter. Dr Alo describes it as “almost pure saturated fat.” When consumed, it can send your LDL levels soaring and clog those arteries. Other foods in the danger zone include cheese, bacon, lard, and coconut oil. 🧈🥓
So, how can you keep that cholesterol in check? The NHS recommends cutting down on high-fat foods and introducing heart-healthy options like oily fish (think mackerel and salmon), olive oil, whole grains, nuts, and plenty of fruits and veggies. 🌿🍎
Plus, regular physical activity—150 minutes a week, as advised—can work wonders. And don’t forget, smoking and exceeding 14 units of alcohol per week can also impact your cholesterol levels negatively.
Want a healthier heart? Time to rethink those foods and embrace a balanced lifestyle! 🍽️💪
